Real win would be if they evolve and merge capabilities but anywho, since this deepseek thing came into existence, a new model of openAI became free to use for users so... whatever happens, it is a net positive for the consumer

So? What to use now? Should we switch to DeepSeek then?

If you need live stock prices, breaking news, or updated facts, DeepSeek seems promising. ChatGPT, on the other hand, still relies on training data and periodic updates (unless connected to the web). So, in a fact-heavy world, DeepSeek has an advantage.

ChatGPT has a massive user base, a developer ecosystem, and OpenAI is backed by Microsoft. No matter how good DeepSeek is, breaking into this space now is nearly impossible. Remember Perplexity? Claude? Even Google's Gemini? None of them dethroned ChatGPT.
