How a 13-Year-Old Redefined Mumbai’s Logistics Industry At 13, while most kids are busy with school and friends, Tilak Mehta was busy solving one of Mumbai’s biggest logistics challenges. So It all started when Tilak left some books at his uncle’s house in Mumbai which he urgently needed them for his exams. But he found that intercity transportation was very expensive. He realized that dabbawalas are free after 3 PM. Thus, in 2018, he launched Papers-N-Parcels, a start-up that provides affordable delivery using a network of dabbawalas. How It Works? 1. Customers schedule pickups before 2:30 PM. 2. Dabbawalas pick up and drop parcels based on their routes. 3. Real-time tracking and delivery executive details ensure transparency and convenience. With initial funding from his family business, PNP started with 300 dabbawalas, delivering around 1,000–1,200 parcels daily at INR 40–60 per package. Thanks to its low prices, quality service, and guidance from his family, PNP’s revenue scaled to 100 CRORE in just two years!!!! This success made Tilak a multi-millionaire at the age of 16!
