The Udan Yatri Cafe, an initiative by the government at Kolkata airport, provides basic items like tea, coffee, and snacks at very reasonable prices. - Water bottle and tea: ₹10 - Coffee: ₹20 - Samosa and sweets: ₹20 This initiative was launched after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha raised concerns about overpriced refreshments at airports. While there are still some issues regarding the quality, let's hope for the best in the future. The government is piloting this project at Kolkata airport, and if it proves successful, it will be implemented at other airports as well.

Average airport rent is 2 Lakh monthly for these types of shops and airport are ( ppp ) owned entities Let's calculate it practically average order value - ₹50rs ₹20 Tea ₹20 Samosa ₹10 water Total 50rs — for 1 person If we expect 200 daily customer according to footfalls then revenue is 3 Lakh monthly for 30 days rent — 2 Lakh electricity — ₹5K raw materials — 1.5 Lakh workers cost — ₹30 Total — 3.90 Lakhs they are already burning 1-2 lakhs monthly so that's really bad model .....

Pune Airport has launched the Udaan Yatri Café. Rs 10 for Tea Rs 20 for Vada Pav Rs 20 for Coffee Rs 20 for Samosas Rs 20 for Sweets. This affordable cafe is already available at Kolkata, Chennai, and Ahmedabad airports.
