You might have seen movie tickets that were once a maximum of ₹300 are now going up to ₹3000. But how can a movie ticket be worth this much when you're just watching the same movie? It's not like you're getting a different version of the film, right? In the same amount you can get practically get subscriptions for almost all OTT platforms in the country. So, why would anybody pay ₹3000 for a single movie? There's something interesting in this story. Since the pandemic, there's been a clear shift in the entertainment landscape: Streaming platforms are eating up market share for obvious reasons like - convenience, options/variety and cost. But that's when multiplexes realised that they need to offer what OTT can't. Something you just can't get at home. And that's when they started to focus heavily on luxury cinema formats. They're essentially combining great viewing experience with restaurants and bars to create a complete outing experience. Something you can't get anywhere else. And for the there entertainment industry of the world, this is great news.
