Marketing isnât always necessary to get people onboard Sometimes, the quality of your product becomes its own form of marketing. If your product is genuinely good, people will naturally talk about it, creating a form of passive marketing. That said, itâs not always possible for a product to gain popularity without marketing. If you look at companies like Tesla and Craigslist, these brands havenât actively engaged in traditional marketing. Instead, their products are so exceptional that people promote them on their own. An easier way to create passive marketing for your product is by building a personal brand. For example, Elon Musk crafted a strong personal brand, which indirectly markets his ventures. Similarly, Zara doesnât invest heavily in advertising but leverages its unique approach to fashion and customer experience, which speaks for itself.
