Don't you think now a days startup are getting increased but not long lasting

These days, a new scam is running in the market under the name of color trading.

Can anyone please help me understand, why the startup craze has cropped up now? Idea of doing a business existed long back, problems existed even back then for people to pick and solve. What changed now? Why everyone wants to do a startup nowadays?

I don't understand what now a days going on in industries, if they are hiring interns and there excetations are that candidate should have experiences more than a year, don't you think they should look potential in intern not experience,
