Are we facing straight Price Discrimination in the Digital Era?😠 Imagine this: if you are shopping for groceries on Zepto and found there is price depends on which device you use. We tried something curious—browsing the same products, at the same location, using two devices: an iPhone and an Android phone. What we found left all shocked: Prices on iPhone were significantly higher than on Android for the exact same items. The minimum order value for free delivery was also lower on Android compared to iPhone. This raises an important question: Are apps engaging in platform-based price discrimination? While companies may argue this is due to customer segmentation or device usage patterns, such practices undermine trust. If a customer is penalized for using a specific device, isn’t that unfair?
