If I had to break it down, I’d say Google is about 40% winning and 60% losing in the AI race right now. While Google still has a stronghold in AI research, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure, competitors like OpenAI and Microsoft have quickly gained ground with their innovative, consumer-facing AI tools. Google's response, like Bard, hasn't quite captured the same level of attention. They’re still a major player, but with the rapid pace of change, they’ll need to adapt quickly to stay on top.
