well it depends, as we all know, building a start has never been about one size fits all kind of strategy. Now, usually building in stealth is opted by companies that create opportunities or look for innovation and research in an industry, whereas building in public is usually opted by consumer product based companies, as it also acts as an indicator of traction. So there's a difference, because research work takes time to turn that innovation into a feasible product and the process is longer.
