How we ranked client's website in a south - Korean Native browser.? One of our client sells their product worldwide but struggled to capture the market in south Korea. So they came to us to optimize the sales especially for south Korea. After the in-depth research, we found that in south Korea, more than using google, people use their native browser "Naver" or also called "Naver whale". So the strategies that done for seo in google will not work for naver whale. So we studied the browser and market dynamics completely. While i can't disclose entire steps here, I will give 3 tips to rank in Naver incase you need to target Korean people Tip No. 1 - Naver will be very conscious that the search results should exactly match the search intent unlike google. So We can't target wider audience here. So first know your customer and speculate what are the things they will search, after researching optimize the blog or product page matching the search intent Tip No.2 - Naver is very keen to show Up-to date content in top of the page. Google is just introducing this rule but naver is og and following this for longer years. So Make sure you update your content every 6 months. Tip No. 3 - Naver also looks brands social media performances and check how reputed and consistent is brand to its customers. I would not say its easy for us to rank. It took solid 8 months to understand it and test various things. And right now the website is at 4th to 8th position in search results for total 5 high match search terms. And for client, south korea became their 3 highest revenue making country. Happy ending :) Hope this post helped you! :)
