why will people choose to buy from your platform/site rather than buying from Amazon? the rates offered by these e-commerce giants are very competitive and if you don't want the higher delivery charges you can just by Amazon prime, Amazon prime seems to be the better investment for me here.

The idea is good, but you may face some problems regarding customer adaptability. Because there is a huge number of consumers who don't prefer online shopping at all due to various reasons (most of them fall in the age group of 40+). They can be a very good customer base for you but you also have to make them familiar with your app, as they might not be as tech savvy as others.
