Meta plans to build a $10B+ subsea cable spanning 40,000+ km, connecting the U.S., India, South Africa, and Australia. This will be Meta's first fully-owned subsea cable for secure, independent infrastructure.
This is a major step in Meta’s strategy to reduce reliance on third-party providers and strengthen its digital ecosystem but I wonder if it's too ambitious.
