that's totally not possible considering elections being the most important integral element of a country and through tech the integrity of the process can easily be compromised. Also integrating tech in this much large scale will also cause environmental degradation to a larger extent. Also the contract of scaling this project to a national level will be given to someone close to the government and this can easily make the nation go to total chaos with complete centralization of power.

Internet is being used by Billions of people daily so just 400-500 million people using it for a day won't make any big difference on the environment. but when it comes to making the tech, you raised a great point. That would still be a big issue
