A prime example is the CEO impersonation attack on a UK energy firm, where cybercriminals used AI to mimic the CEO’s voice, successfully convincing an employee to transfer €220k to a fake supplier. Such attacks tend to increase during festive seasons, as cybercriminals exploit the high volume of communications and transactions. AI's role in phishing amplifies three key tactics: - Scaling personalized messages - Automating campaigns, - Using deepfakes for voice phishing. To counter these, adopt proactive AI-based defenses & train employees in recognizing AI-driven phishing, staying prepared for these evolving tactics.
