🚨 5-year-old boy dies in Bengaluru after eating cake because his father is a Delivery boy and he takes cancelled cake for his family and son ☹️ 💊🏥 The boy and his parents fell ill after eating dinner and cake on Sunday night. The cake was a cancelled food delivery order that the boy’s father had brought home three days ago, police sources said 👮♂️🚓 👦 A five-year-old boy in Bengaluru died of suspected food poisoning on Monday allegedly after he consumed stale food, the police said. His parents who were hospitalised along with him are currently undergoing treatment 💉 🏠 The police identified the boy as Dhiraj, a resident of Bhuvaneshwari Nagar in Bengaluru West, and his parents as Balaraj, a Swiggy food delivery partner, and Nagalakshmi. The K P Agrahara police are yet to register a case as Balaraj and Bhuvaneshwari are still in hospital 🤕 🕐 initial observation reveals that the parents had eaten stale food due to which food poisoning could have happened. We will collect the available food items consumed by them and send them for testing,” S Girish, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said👬 👨⚕️ A doctor at KIMS hospital where the family was admitted said that though they have concluded that it was a case of food poisoning, they are yet to ascertain which food caused the family to fall ill 🤢 📝 Balraj’s statements are inconsistent. He said that they ate papad, food and cake on Sunday night. We are waiting for him to recover. They came to the hospital on Monday, at around 10 am, due to vomiting and diarrhoea,” a doctor said 🤮 🔮 In a statement issued on Tuesday, Swiggy said, “We are heartbroken by the unfortunate incident in Bengaluru, and our thoughts are with the family during this incredibly difficult time. Our team has visited the hospital to meet the family and is extending all possible support.
