A lift might help but this is not a regular thing to be done na, once a month or so it happens or even less frequently. So adding a lift or something for a thing that's not being done so much would be unnecessary.

Lifts need electricity, electricity today comes from fossil fuels and cranes on the ground run on diesel, that's harmful too. This is the cleanest way. It could've been made better and safer but it is the best way conceptually.
