A MBA is an MBA. Yes, the world is free and open source, and you can learn almost anything on your computer, but when compared to a real-life degree where you build networks and surround yourself with like-minded people, it does matter.

there are always a number of ways to connect with people..no hate for MBA but MBA is becoming redundant slowly. I don't see taking it as a viable option

do not follow the herd, if all the people are saying it is not great to pursue anymore, then go for it, you would get less competition. Having a reputed college is a necessity, by the way.
