If you can sell hope, you can make billions. I’ve been looking into business models lately and noticed one big trend: making money is easy when you’re selling hope. EdTech platforms promising you’ll land that dream job or get the seat in the Big Institution, trading apps tempting you with quick profits, fantasy sports convincing you that picking the right team will make you rich, all these ventures thrive on one thing: hope. And the funny part? Most people are just paying for someone else’s win. Remember Fair & Lovely? They sold us hope in a tube! Or lotteries that offer “instant wealth,” with odds higher than my hopes of finding a unicorn in my backyard. The truth is, these businesses rake in profits from a game where a few win and most of us just cheer from the sidelines. So, here's my question.
