No it doesn't work that way. If private companies don't invest enough in R&D the country will still remain poor with poverty of aspiration. Look how faang companies invest in research and development. Leave it just look at some of the smallest pharma companies in the west invest in their research. India just copy everything from West and implement it in India with some jugard

If I'm not wrong, these companies are investing in R&D. the number isn't a lot but huge. And this layoff is basically just for cost cut. Where is it mentioned that R&D's budget is being cut
