lack of understanding customer pain points, inability to use tools to target the right customers, not ready to see what competitors are doing to best achieve their goals, running non personalized advertisements, no A/B testing. There are many reasons for a founder and a co-founder to step in and be a master of all at the initial stage!

Startups work towards growth and valuation however, in my opinion these are by-products, if you focus on the proper process and understand your customer and make your product viable to them, then you don't even have to think about growth, it will happen on its own.
