Want to become an entrepreneur? Traditionally startup success has been linked more to external factors like the industry you're building in, the economic landscape etc. But what about internal factors? Previous experiences, network connections, and team size have been spoken about, but the role of personalities? What about it? Well guess what? There was a Oxford study of 26,781 global startups which found that entrepreneurs possess more of The Big Five personality traits than the general population. Let's explore: 1. Openness (adventurousness): It measures how curious, imaginative, and open-minded you are. Entrepreneurs have a higher score here. They are more open to new experiences and taking risks compared to employees. 2.Agreeableness (modesty and trust): People with more of this trait tend to be kind, trustworthy and helpful. Employees score higher on modesty and trust. They are more likely to believe in the reliability and good intentions of others compared to entrepreneurs. 3. Extraversion: Entrepreneurs have higher energy levels and enjoy being active compared to employees. They are more assertive and social. 4.Emotional Stability (anxiety): Entrepreneurs handle anxiety well. They are generally more emotionally stable, calm and resilient compared to employees. 5. Immoderation: Employees show more impulsiveness or emotional instability in certain situations. Entrepreneurs are more delibarate. If you want to boost your chances of being a successful entrepreneur, be more open minded, handle your emotions well, be less impulsive, and try to maintain high energy levels.
