I had the same questions for my app idea as well, this is what I heard from majority of people already in the industry No, you can't patent an idea, you can however patent how you implement a feature but that's basically trying to say a milligram grain of sand is mine in a desert. If someone does steal your game, if it's a big corporation then there isn't much you can do as they can afford legal fees and you can't. You can only fight for so long before giving up. You can trademark your game, it's unique graphics and anything that stands out to have some grounds. Moreover if your game is super hit and is generating over millions per year then some companies will show intrest and try to copy you, if not then nobody could care less. Many corporate companies follow a set of rules on how they develop a game so you'll have loads of time to capture the market and have some features for retaining. Good luck buddy
