I think we get some good assignments created by experts on various tech, get them approved by a few companies to see they match their requirements. When students get a good hold on them, they can solve their respective assignments with a little ease.

If they approve then its all fine. However, in my opinion, partnering with Companies would be viable option since there's dire need for skilled employees. Even recently, TCS said that they spend alot in training their fresher recruits to make them job-worthy. There arefew colleges only who provide skilled graduates.
