This post is probably gonna be a bit odd but I wanted to write this and hence it is here. Have you ever thought about the reasons behind authors shifting to self publishing? Authors/Writers are the ones who remain unnoticed most of the time.Imagine a young man with a very good idea and writing and wants to publish his story/ novel. He visits a publishing house. They don't like it .They refuse it.But, publisher isn't the Public .A few bunch of people don't like a story and decide to not allow it to reach. It is not necessary that the metrics on which publisher judges the book is same as metrics of a reader This is just a simple example and not just hypothesis. It has happened many authors who initially got as many as 30 rejections and then when they went ahead for self publishing , the book broke records. Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book and Amish Tripathi 's Immortals of Meluna are the examples. If you are a struggling authors , DM me need your help to validate my solution of this problem
