As someone in the industry, these big fat weddings keep thousands employed. It's not just about the rich family

There are people whose livelihoods depend on grand weddings and I feel there's nothing wrong in spending the money you have earned. Only thing that bothers me is, instead of calling already rich and famous celebrities for shows they can call budding talents, it'll be huge support for them. But again it might be practically difficult to search for such talents across such a big country. They've contributed to the economy, and instead of complaining about their spending, we should be focusing on making our own contributions to the economy.

Simple.Funda.! Money needs to be move in a circle no one can hold it if you are a middle class your expenditure would be middle class if you are a billionaire your expenditure would be billionaire like. The sole purpose of luxury brand isn't just to extract the money from aspiring to look rich people but also To retake the over access of money from the rich to make the flow and circle of money possible.

I have no issue at all them spending but just stay away from media, revoke their access and don't post anything online. No one wants to see their cringe fest

It's a complex issue. Yes, it seems excessive, but it's legal and does stimulate the economy. The real problem is systemic inequality, not individual spending.

I think it’s largely a symbol of society, this is just about the larger scale we’re talking about, which even bothers people.

See, people who have barely gotten secure jobs, when learn a fact like how much has been spent on this wedding, automatically cant stop thinking about one of their own, and quickly coming back to the reality where you know you can never afford that, in your next 9 lives even, combined. It’s disheartening, and then it either comes out as pity or withers away like 1000 other sensational news pieces. There need not be an analysis on it
