Ram Shriram, an Indian American billionaire, played a pivotal role in the establishment of Google. As one of the earliest investors, he contributed $0.5 million to the company while Sergey Brin and Larry Page were still operating from a garage. Shriram, a self-made billionaire with a net worth of $2.8 billion, currently oversees Sherpalo Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm. In addition to Google, he has made significant investments in various successful tech startups, including Razorpay, Inmobi, Notion, Skyroot Aerospace (India's first space startup), and many others. Born and raised in Chennai, India, Shriram experienced the loss of his father at a young age of three. He completed his schooling in his hometown and obtained a BS in Mathematics from Madras University before pursuing an MBA in the United States. Following the completion of his MBA, Shriram embarked on an engineering career, playing a vital role in the growth of two prominent tech companies.
