I'm kinda sus about Bhavish Agarwal's latest headlines. It is not easy to create your own cloud provider, it's a collosal undertaking requiring millions of dollars of investment and hiring large number of SRE and SWE who have years of experience at senior level in cloud and underlying technologies. Similarly making your own maps is an even more collasal task. It took Google decades with all the data in the world to get to this point. Route optimization at it's core is a computer science problem that's as per today's understanding mathematically extremely hard to compute in any reasonable time (NP hard problem) and suddenly Ola announces they have their own maps. I'm very sceptical and feel like we are missing some very important details.
