ONE INTERESTING OBSERVATION SERIES DAY #10 Heirs vs Self-Made Billionaires For the first time ever, more wealth is being passed down through inheritance than created by new entrepreneurs!!! 🤯 The study is for the data from 2015 to 2023. In that time period: • a total of $150.8 billion was inherited by new billionaires • while self-made billionaires created a total of $140.7 billion. This shift is likely due to a few reasons, including the slowing down of the IPO market in recent years. This has made it harder for entrepreneurs to cash out on their businesses. The trend is also likely to continue as more and more of the tech billionaires from the boom of the past 30 years age and pass on their wealth to their heirs. While there are still plenty of self-made billionaires out there, it seems like an increasing amount of wealth is being concentrated in the hands of a lucky few. What do you think about this trend?
