Offline Networking: When you approach someone offline, don't just jump in with, "Hey, I want to network with you." Instead, take the time to understand their interests. Online Networking: If you're connecting online, particularly on LinkedIn, first interact with their content. Like their posts, comment thoughtfully, and understand their interests. This interaction acts as a digital rapport. Directly messaging someone without this preliminary step often doesn’t yield great results. However, engaging with their content first makes the initial conversation much smoother. Building the RelationshipBuilding a relationship in networking involves making the other person feel that the relationship already existed before you officially started conversing.
