Japan-based AC maker Daikin expects to manufacture two million units in India and plans to explore more export opportunities by establishing India as its manufacturing base. According to Daikin Airconditioning India Chairman and Managing Director Kanwaljeet Jawa, the company has already sold 700,000 residential air conditioners (RAC) in the first three months of the year, driven by a scorching summer season. The company anticipates over 50% growth. Daikin has inaugurated its third manufacturing unit in India at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, and is investing in compressor manufacturing. The company aims to produce five million units by 2030.
