Overview Retail supply chain consists of 4 major arms of operations: Manufacturer Wholesaler Distributor Retailer While there is much software penetration at the retailer’s end the distributors still do a lot of work by old means. Problem statement The distributors catering to tier 2 and tier 3 cities and villages go from shop to shop to get orders or they get them on calls and thus their order placing is not organised and mostly done on paper. There are available softwares in the market which boast of big features like inventory management via barcode and what not. In reality, these mid to small distributors don’t have enough infra with them to actually carry out these tasks and hence they use these softwares for billing only while they pay a monthly subscription fee for all the features.
