EV startup River, battery firm IBC to invest in rural Bengaluru district Bengaluru's River and International Battery Company's investments in Bengaluru rural district to create jobs and revolutionize electric mobility, supported by global investors. River, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup, will invest Rs 400 crore at Hoskote in Bengaluru rural district. The investment will be directed towards expanding its manufacturing, R&D, and testing facilities. River also will be establishing new stores and service stations across the state. Backed by marquee international investors like Yamaha Motor Co, Toyota Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital, Al-Futtaim Automotive, and Maniv Mobility, River has cumulatively raised up to $ 68 million (Rs 564 crore). This includes their most recent Series B round where they raised $40 million (Rs 332 crore).
