2 years back I too got the same question I try to give a long ans. Gov wants to ban as much as non smokers feel. But many things go upside down after this. 1. Many people addicted to this shit. And they will go out of boundary to do things to get back or they may buy it illegelaly and this will neither gives gov money nor the peace full society so this is a reason. 2. Also most part of the money gov gets either from taxes, alcohol and cigars have huge percentage. They don't want to just stop it and make them unhappy. They just want to make it at a cost that people pay. By this everyone will be happy . See gov did many things to stop people. They literally printed a worst images on tobacco and cihar to stop them. They literally kept it on your fav movie starting and all. Still people funds it wanted and addicted. After gov can just regulate and keep laws but can't over rule and dictate people over. Then what's the diff between freedoma nd slavery.
