I'm also quite surprised that Apple doesn't seem to have their own artificial intelligence model.
Basically, Apple plas to integrate Meta's generative AI model in iPhone and other devices for specific AI tasks in Apple Intelligence. This allows Meta the access of Apple's userbase and it's data.
