Just like the way we go to our local kirana store for daily needs,we go to the stock market to shop for investments.Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange are the two exchanges where you can buy or sell a stock via a registered intermediary called the stockbroker. Market Participants 1)Domestic Retail Participants:-Common people like you and me transact in markets 2) NRIs:- Indian-origin people based outside of India 3)Domestic Institutions:-Corporate entities in India 4)Domestic Asset Management Companies:-Mutual Fund Companies like HDFC AMC, SBI Mutual Fund 5)Foreign Institutional Investors:- Non-Indian corporate entities, these could be foreign AMCs, hedge funds, etc.
