Indian startups are gaining traction, but a worrying trend of cloning successful apps threatens long-term growth and innovation. This "copy-paste" culture, while effective short-term, raises concerns about sustainability and originality. While app cloning is common in techāseen in iOS and Androidāit's again not refreshing to see Gaurav making stuff like they have with Unacademyās Language Learning app, while it does show commitment to creating visually appealing and functional apps like..say Duolingo, and then talk big about how he wants to change/shake things up in ed-tech. And the best decision? Launching it in USA, By the summer, and for what? While copying tho, to their creditā Unacademy excels in design, unlike many edtech companies that prioritize high-priced, sales-driven courses over well-crafted digital experiences. But then when he talks about innovation, it shakes my core.
