How Did ( STOCK MARKET START ) ! Ever wondered how the stock market began and why it's so important today? The stock market began in medieval Europe when merchants teamed up for big trading trips, sharing risks and profits. The major shift came in 1602 with the Dutch East India Company, the first to sell shares to the public. These shares were traded at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the world's first stock market. The idea spread. In 1698, the London Stock Exchange started in coffeehouses where traders met. In 1792, 24 stockbrokers founded the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), which became the main U.S. exchange. The stock market helped companies raise money, spread risks, and provided a place to easily buy and sell shares. This led to business growth and innovation. Over time, stock markets evolved from physical trading floors to electronic systems, connecting investors worldwide. Want to know how the stock market became high-tech? Stay tuned for the next part!
