Banglore Is suffering from severe water crisis but do you onow that the Western Ganga Dynasty (350–1000 CE) of ancient India had the solution for this? As we all know, Banglore is a landlocked city with only 4 small rivers which is not enough for the growing water needs. However, 1400 years ago the Western Ganga Dynasty tried to solve this problem by constructing Tanks and Lakes to harvest rainwater, ensuring a steady water supply for agriculture and domestic use. Later on The Chola Dynasty (c. 300 BCE–1279 CE) introduced Advanced Irrigation Techniques including canals and aqueducts for efficient water distribution. And then Vijayanagara Empire revolutionalized the existing systems and introduced New Water Infrastructure such as "Kempambudhi" and "Dharmambudhi lakes." Then Kempe Gowda (1513–1569 CE) founded Bangalore with a focus on water management. Who along with creating a network of lakes and wells also interlinked all the lakes and invented "Cascading lake system." Thank You.
