I'm actually not surprised at all that Elon wasn't the original founder of Tesla. The guy has a habit of inserting himself into narratives and rewriting history to put himself front and center. Props to Eberhard and Tarpenning for getting it started.
When Tesla was founded in 2003, Elon Musk wasn't even an employee.
