I am wondering how this medial app was able to retain users in the initial stages. Right now, this app has more than ten thousand users, if I am correct. But in the beginning, when there was no user base, how did they retain the first 5-20 users? Is it bots? Those who know, please enlighten me.

Obviously capitalised their own networks, the founder of this company had previously sold a startup of his, with that credibility, he might have reached out to his former colleagues, friends, networks, same with the other founders, possibly. Use common sense, if 4 founders call 5 friends each that’s first 20 users right there.
