You point might be right but right now it's not needed in Medial just yet. it will not used, just bcz Medial user base is much much less which is needed for such features. If you want to test just make poll asking Feed Update or Voice Discussion. Right now Medial can focus on other things which directly impact in increase of user base and user interaction in Medial.
