If I’m not mistaken, the medial application never recommends old posts or customizes your feed based on your likes?

If you spam Medial’s feed with your showcase entries, those posts will keep getting deleted.

If we want to travel to any place, how can we know what is the current situation there? Or whether there is a go or not or there is an alert etc..

There have been some technical glitches in our algorithm because of which the feed might seem very uninteresting or boring. We are trying to fix things asap. Medial should get back to normal by tomorrow.
