"Leave Your Worries Behind" Failed Marketing Strategy #6 In 2013, Ford and its ad agency WPP Created a Cartoonist post showing former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi driving a vehicle with three gagged and crying women in the trunk, flashing a victory sign. The ad was intended to highlight the car's spacious trunk, but people found it offensive, distasteful, and misogynistic. “Leave your worries behind with Figo’s extra large boot” Later Ford issued an apology for the ad as well, “We deeply regret this incident and agree with our agency partners that it should have never happened.Together with our partners, we are reviewing approval and oversight processes to help ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”
