Many of my family members, classmates and colleagues have said that I should take up English in college as they see that I have potential in the subject. However I don't want to take up English; instead I'm going to pursue psychology as I genuinely want to do so. I love writing and creating. Taking up English and then having to do assignments and read books (which I dont want to) will make my passion feel like a chore. Idk if you get me but yep.

Thank them for seeing your potential, but explain your heart's in psychology. Psychology uses writing and creativity too, so you can still express yourself. It's your future, and following your passion will make you happier and more successful.

Yes major in psychology or sociology or even better a journalism course will give you a lot of writing exposure. Bangalore has a lot of triple/double major options like mine, I started with marketing as my career. It’s not that streamlined as your parents and teachers will tell you, you can actually get a lot of chance to explore.
