The world's first crypto millionaire is generally recognized to be Chris Larsen, co-founder of Ripple. Chris Larsen's wealth is estimated to be between $7.5 billion to $8 billion, primarily due to his holdings in Ripple's XRP. He achieved this status as XRP's price surged at the end of 2017. Larsen co-founded Ripple with Jed McCaleb in 2012, and the company is known for its development of the XRP cryptocurrency and its digital payment protocol, aiming to enable fast and cheap international money transfers. Larsen's journey to becoming a crypto millionaire began with his involvement in several successful ventures prior to Ripple. He co-founded E-Loan in 1996, a company that provided online mortgage services, and was also a co-founder of Prosper Marketplace, a peer-to-peer lending platform. These experiences helped him understand the potential of digital currencies and their ability to disrupt traditional financial systems.
