India is the world's second largest producer of tobacco, after China. In 2020, India produced over 766,000 tonnes of tobacco, which was 9% of the world's total production.
In 2020, India exported 497,550 tons of chili, 206,400 tons of cumin, 175,600 tons of turmeric, and 930 tons of cardamom. From April 2020 to February 2021, India exported $3.56 billion worth of spices.
