Suppose you create a travel app and it got decent traction. Say you're running at some thousands of users. You realise that it's important to have in app communication between users. Not just feeds and comments but messaging between users and user groups. If you set out to build it you'll have to handle messages, pictures, mentions notifications, maybe voice and video too. Besides all this it needs to be real-time which is a bit hard to achieve. With my solution all of this is effectively taken care for you and all u need to do is use the SDK and display however you want within your App.
