Are you sure that the average indians would go for it ? The dream of home for Indian men is huge. Even though they don't have much money they'll go for a huge amount of loan to make a better house. I think the mentality of our majority society is that they make houses for show off.

This can be done becoz people mostly attracted to foreign life style so u can do it . In metro cities micro homes are getting popular similarly this can also be done but u need to take help of govt. Becoz it can provide u a land other facilities for lease if possible this can reduce housing issue in metro cities and mostly useful for bachelor's i guess.

If you spend 10 lacs on something how can you sustain a model of charging very less rent. I may not know much about westerners but even till today home is considered to be an asset with love and memories. There are surely much more affordable options than foldables like real homes having pgs or rural areas nearby a city.

I think there will be problem with water supply and sanitation. The pipelines for household needs will be costly and these r temporary too so but great idea try ur luck
