I’ll tell you what I think, people with a tech background can 1. Build 2. Gather a better team by finding synergy in their circle/friends. 3. It’s pretty favourable also when tech guys are involved in a project, helps in pivoting too. Other than these, it’s actually not a big deal or rare to see other backgrounds making it big in entrepreneurship. Kunal Shah who sold his first startup freecharge and into his second CRED, he’s a psychology major, nikhil kamath is a 10th dropout, and ritesh agarwal didn’t continue college. You gotta have the common sense to be able to find, people you need, and the passion to keep them. That’s all.

It is becoz of simple thing engineering is all about studying 4 years continuously and nothing thrill.We as students looks for some thrill and as bad mess food and and we keep ordering now and then Zomato,swiggy,Amazon etc We need money and look for opportunities and so we look and work on them and that teaches us many things and engineering like is so much tough, specifically in IITs/NITs and IIITs so something to do we enter in entrepreneurship and not the rat race of placements I am telling this from my own story as I am the same guy who is working as CMO in a startup coz I have started hating my engineering studies at IIIT

Entrepreneurs with a B.Tech background may have a technical advantage, but creativity and innovation are not limited by academic background. Indian startups like Flipkart (Sachin and Binny Bansal) and Ola (Bhavish Aggarwal) were founded by individuals with B.Tech backgrounds, however, there are successful startups like Nykaa (Falguni Nayar) and Zivame (Richa Kar) founded by individuals with non-technical backgrounds.

It's quite simple Firstly, there are a lot of engineers. You can easily find one or two engineer in your circle. Secondly, engeneering is the domain which 'Solve Problems' and they core skill which they learn is technology (coding/programming) and in modern time tech related startup are in boom.

i don't believe that if you are from finance background you can't gain knowledge in tech. as most of entrepreneurs is all rounders. they know how to manage skillset in right direction. does ca aman gupta knows how to build wearables or headset.

Fun fact: Steve Jobs had barely any idea about a line of code, before starting apple, he was smart, made friends with Wozniak, you should find your Steve Wozniak ASAP

It's all about practical implementation and how B.tech is curated for many aspects in different multiple sectors , hence most of entrepreneur have that background..

Problem solving skills! Engineers are born with it!

Exposure matters. In general Engineering students have Exposure to a lot of arenas during their college time comparatively. I guess that plays a major role on that. And the Tier of colleges play a role too

Because it's not about idea it's about the execution. If you can build your product yourself and don't have to find and pay someone to build it, you already have a tremendous advantage

Engineers can do everything - From preparing for exam in one night to finding quick business solutions ....... Btw I am having my end semester exam tomorrow

On an average 15 lack engineers are produced every year. Since it is one of the most studied course. We feel like most of the entrepreneurs are engineers. Person pursuing any career can become a entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are problem solvers, inovators and risk takers which will be learnt by default when studying 4 years of engineering.

You can be a nobody and still be an entrepreneur and win. That's the beauty of entrepreneurship.

Generally the startups that are coming, the one thing is common that they have so much tech involved while building and running it and no one understand tech more than a engineer. It is one of the reasons why founders basically have a engineering background.

Coz while doing btech we not only learn about are specific domain .. we enhances ourselves in all type of domains nd that's it . Btech gives freedom!
