Hello everyone! I am from a tier 3 college which have a decent campus placements. Recently the quality of teaching decreased a lot. Not all the teachers have good grip on the subject and their way of delivering the content is too bad. Moreover I am doing my bachelor's degree in Ai and data science branch. Right now due to recession, very few companies are coming to the campus. Their job description is demanding a lot from us like LLM , hugging face platforms and much more...these were not taught in our college but to learn them on my own first I need to have a strong grip on my basics. To do that I need some time but in meanwhile I don't want to miss out any opportunities. Can some one give me advice on how to prepare for ai, data science related job roles having good grip on subject and coding . I am ready to put efforts ...the only thing I need is the guidance.

I would suggest just understand the basic from https://roadmap.sh/ai-data-scientist. No need to go deep into theory, just understand how it works and start doing some self projects simultaneously.

Understand supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning. Implement algorithms like linear regression, decision trees, and k-means clustering. Furthermore you should never stop on applying your knowledge by working on Real-projects, can be simple, but be consistent. Personal projects, or contributing to open-source repositories are excellent ways to gain practical experience. Showcase your projects on platforms like GitHub. Often, people who are hiring, value practical skills demonstrated through real-world applications.

Hey Shreya, It’s commendable that you’re proactive and seeking guidance to enhance your skills in AI and data science. Focus on building a solid foundation. Understand core concepts in mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, probability), statistics, and programming (Python or R). Strengthening these basics will serve as a strong platform for advanced topics. R is another valuable language for statistical analysis and data visualization. Familiarize yourself with its syntax and packages.
